NYC & NJ Wedding Band Promo Video

It's finally done. We had been talking about doing a new wedding & private event promo video for over a year. But our busy schedules both with the band and our own personal lives and careers always seem to get in the way. Eventually it became clear that it was an absolute must as we felt that our old promo video just did not accurately represent what the band has grown into.

We researched several options for doing the video but one name kept coming up - EKO Productions. We pulled the trigger, booked the date, and recorded the footage for the video on January 4th, 2015. It took a bit longer than expected to go through all the footage and pick out the parts that would ultimately make it into the final cut. But the wait was well worth it.

We're super proud of the way the video came out. We hope you enjoy it too.

Take a look for yourself:

Holiday Parties, New Years Eve, Private Events - Oh, My!

Busy, busy!  It's been a while since we posted a blog.  Over the last 6 months or so, we've been super busy playing a whole bunch of private parties and events along with our usual bar & club gigs. Some highlights include:
  • A classy 50th birthday party at the eloquent Englewood Field Club in Englewood, NJ.
  • A beautiful holiday party on a private farm in Oakland, NJ
  • New Years Eve at the Somerset Crown Plaza Hotel which was a joint venture with The Wisenheimers and Majestic Entertainment.
  • An amazing surprise 40th Birthday party at the Mansion on the campus of Fairly Dickinson University.
  • A family friendly 40th Birthday celebration at the Madison Hotel in Madison, NJ
The Englewood Field Club
Along with these fun gigs, we've been back at our usual spots such as The Mohawk House in Sparta and the Famished Frog in Morristown.  Our St. Patrick's day party at The Famished Frog was particularly rowdy.  We kept the standing room only crowd dancing the whole night long.

We've got some great things planned for the remainder of 2012!  On June 16, we'll be headlining the Celebrate South Orange festival which is sure to be an amazing event.  We'll also be back at this year Smoke Rise Days 4th of July celebration in Kinnelon, NJ.

And, speaking of celebrations, our wedding calendar is filling up with weddings booked for both this year and next.   Getting married or know someone who is?  Having a birthday party, holiday party or corporate event?  Contact us for our affordable packaging!

Two Great Halloween Parties

The Wisenheimers had the pleasure of playing at 2 amazing Halloween parties this year. The first was the Manville-Hillsborough ELKS M/C 5th Annual Halloween "Spooktacular" on October 22nd. What an amazing night this was for both the band and all who attended not to mention that the proceeds went to benefit Community Hope of New Jersey. There were some amazing customes there, but our favorite had to be a young Paul McCartney complete with a Hofner Beatles bass guitar. And if the costume wasn't enough "Paul" came up to help us out on the Golden Slumbers meadly. PRICELESS!

The night wrapped up with raffle drawings and prizes for best costumes in various classes. Steve actual won a set of utensils that was quickly hijacked by another over zelous party go-er. Eh, easy come easy go, right?

The band would like to give a HUGE shout out to Mark Nipps for having us out. We're already looking forward to next year!

Next up, on October 28th, was another amazing evening at The Famished Frog in Morristown. This wasn't their "official" Halloween party, but the majority in attendance, including the band, where dress up for the occasion. This was just one of those nights that the band was ON! All pistons were firing 100% and the dance floor was jumping.

Thanks to all that came out to these events!  We'll see you next time.

Chambo's 13th Annual Oktoberfest

Not rain or Police or even irate neighbors could put a damper on the festivities at Chambo's Annual Oktoberfest celebration this past weekend. In usual fashion, the 150+ party goers did yet once again gather to eat drink and partake in the yearly antics of this unparalleled event featuring The Wisenheimers playing an unprecedented 75 song mega show, including a 2 1/2 hour nonstop marathon 3rd set! We have performed at this event for the past 7 years and although there were no over enthusiastic fans performing gymnastics wearing workboots (ie; doing cartwheels into the band member's faces and equipment as in past years,) the crowd was still ultra rowdy and the Band rocked solid until 1am with no Police presence or interruptions - not bad for 120 decibals outside in a congested Bergen County suburban neighborhood!

Always Playing.

The Wisenheimers are always busy playing music out, but not always with other Wisenheimers.

On Friday, July 29th our drummer was sitting in with “The Elevators” they were Tearing It Up at Rhodes North Tavern.
Last Friday, Steve was performing a duo gig with Frank Alfano at 54 Main in Madison. Frank Plays with our good friends in “Lurker Park”. That same night I was playing bass with Denny Tilton up in Sparta N.J. We were opening up for Patrick Fitzsimmons who also plays drums in “From Good Homes”. Also playing with us that night was Dan Myers , also in “From Good Homes” and Tom Delaney who plays with “The Blue Emerald Band”, My sister Loni Bach on the cello and Tom Askin formally of "The Samples". Here is a picture from that night.

Smoke Rise Days - Partying on the Beach

On July 2nd, we had the privilege of playing for the Smoke Rise in Kinnelon's annual Smoke Rise Days. Smoke Rise Days is the community's annual pride and Independence day weekend celebration and takes place right on the beach of beautiful Lake Kinnelon.  We set up on a stage right on the beach and performed for a crowd of several thousand Smoke Rise Residents.  The band's performance was immediately followed by the most amazing fireworks display that any of us had seen in a long time.

People young and old were dancing on the beach and singing along to every song. The combination of the beach, amazing weather and festive atmosphere truly made this one of our most enjoyable gigs in recent memory and certainly a high point for the band.

Rolling in the Deep

This was a email to my bandmates that metamorphosed into a blog.

Hey Guys and Gal,

Here are my notes and and transcribed background vocals for "Rolling in the Deep"

-tempo 104 bpm

-We must incorporate the hand claps, people react to hand clapping. Claps are crucial

- I am thinking falsetto background vocals, here is the main part.

-when the background voice is just one voice it is just the top part

-Here is that great "Wo ho ho ho" part

Side note: My music notation software was a pencil, a piece of music paper, a iPhone, and I added the text with Microsoft photo editor...getto!
